The Phoenix Classic Bowlers Association is a traveling monthly scratch tournament club, open to USBC certified bowlers age 50 and over. In his first year eligible, Tom Frigon has been dominating the proceedings. Using an “all Visionary all the time” strategy, Tom recently notched his third tournament win of the year, to go along with two second place finishes. This means that, despite bowling in differing locations and various oil patterns, Tom has been bowling for the title in five of six tournaments held in 2010. Two of the victories showcased the versatility of the Ogre SS, with one win coming while “swinging the lane” and the other while playing straight down the first arrow. Tom said, “The versatility and consistency of Visionary equipment is second to none. Add the famous Visionary durability and hitting power, and it’s a pretty tough combination to beat.” Based on his performance, the members of the Phoenix Classic Bowlers Association would have to agree.

Coming into the High Roller, Willie Wells informed everyone that if given the opportunity to use his New Breed Particle Pearl, he would win at least one event. Well, during the 60+ portion of the event, he did just that. After averaging 232 for the qualifying (215 – 256 – 225: 696), Willie barely made it past the first round, striking out in the tenth to defeat Jocko Mangin 216-215. From that point on, Willie put on a show destroying his competition by 75, 63, 46, 26, and 54 pins respectively to bring home a $10,000 payday.
